One of the more interesting stops along the way was in Vermont at the Rock of Ages cemetery and monument plant. The first shot is of an artist adding color accents to a grave marker. The next is the conveyor system used to move these heavy stone monoliths around the factory. Wait till you see how they get to work tomorrow.

A number of years ago Burlington, Vermont, converted their main shopping thoroughfare into a pedestrian mall. On a Saturday afternoon that seems to have been a pretty good idea.

We tend to think of the development of our Western States as ancient history. Here Europeans began settling the region 200 years before Lewis & Clark began their epic voyage. If we had a boat we could begin in Montreal, sail down Lake Champlain and keep going all the way south until reaching New York City via the Hudson.
